January 27th, 2010 — Art of Entertaining, Cool Wedding Stuff
Last night we helped to celebrate the Eco Beautiful Weddings Magazine launch party at 632 Below. It was a smashing sucess and I will post pictures/tell you about the who was where and who did what, as soon as I get some pics!
In any case it is ALWAYS daunting planning a party for planners (and bloggers) since we’ve really seen so much and very little seems fresh and fun. So I took it as a personal challenge to have one element there that at least I had never seen before (hey, if all else goes wrong, at least I’m entertained, right? ) So, when I heard about Elizabeth Haag’s Lipstick Readings… I was, well, intrigued to say the least. Here is what she does- she sets herself up in a small corner with a variety of animal friendly lipsticks in all sorts of hues. You apply, you pucker, you kiss and voila!, an imprint off of which Ms. Haag will then tell you your fortunes… Or more accurately, assess your personality. Think of it like palm reading, but via the medium of cosmetics.
Everyone really seemed to LOVE it…and as I said, a lot of these guests have seen “it all”. I think it’s a FABULOUS thing to have a bridal shower or a bridesmaids’ luncheon (does anyone still do those anymore) and I found her to be remarkably spot on (I am a good communicator who enjoys speaking her mind, Mayra could also have been a detective…) Here are some of the kisses Liz gathered from last night!

Wow! That’s definitely a different idea, and I’m sure was a hit. Will she travel? I have not heard of this before.
I’m sure that she will!
i love this! i’ve got to incorporate it into my bachelorette party or bridal shower!
Lipstick reading was SOOOOO much fun! Mine is up there :) And she was pretty bang on when it came to my reading too! Very cute and will definitely suggest her for the future. Thx X & M you ladies Rock!
Oh this is SUCH a gorgeous idea…I think I’ll have something similar for my birthday! dress our lips in different shades and then kiss tissues…so very ‘Mad Men’, isn’t it?

i love this idea and the line up of lipstick blots would make a beautiful art piece…we should have people blot on watercolor paper and frame it.
This is an incredible idea. I love the ideas you come up with! Keep up the good work.
Yes, Liz did a reading for me that night and it was a lot of fun. Great idea for bachelorettes, bridal showers, and more
