So, here is a simple fact. Of course you hire a wedding photographer, but your guests are still there taking pictures. On the plus side, they are experiencing the day from a totally different perspective than you, or your photographer are and you would love to see those pictures. I GUESS you could put them on facebook, but then they are in all different albums and you can’t really print any of them…. Well, enter Olapic.
Olapic will send out an email to your guests inviting them to upload photos onto your site. You can then order prints, make albums and share ALL of your photos, ALL in one place. You can choose which ones to make public, or how private you might want them to be as they can live on a website that you can then manage. Plus, once they are all in once place, you can choose which ones you want to publish and share on other social networks. It’s a very cool way to capture ALL the angles of your wedding day!
Then, the other day I got an invitation to the opening of a new luxury property. In aiming to be eco-friendly, they sent out electronic invitations. This shouldn’t be confused with an evite. Sent from a service called PaperLess Post, this was an AMAZINGLY cool thing to get. The email came with an image of my name on an envelope. When I clicked the envelope, it took me to a site, where the envelope opened and a really lovely looking formal invitation popped out. It then lets you track who has viewed and how they want to respond. They have an array of more classic designs that I really liked and I suspect their design roster will continue to grow. I hope, wait, I PRAY, that the day never comes when we are sending out electronic wedding invitations, however, I think these are lovely for save the dates, a casual engagement party or a day after party… or just for the holidays!!! Here is a link to check it out... you get 25 free stamps when you sign up… which basically enables you to send out invites to 25 people for free. Because the service doesn’t take advertising (which made for a calming experience when I registered and browsed) there is a nominal fee for each address you send to (100 “stamps” for $8… not usps prices).

If you haven’t been on Dessy’s new site.
