Stock the Bar Shower!

A few weeks ago I heard about this thing called a diaper party for the first time. The gist of it is, while women are attending a baby shower for the mom-to-be, the guys bring the future dad diapers and beer and they hang out for the afternoon. Having just been a guest at a co-ed baby shower not that long ago, I think that this idea could totally sweep the nation as it seems like a lot of fun.

So, with that in mind, I bring you a “Stock the Bar” Shower- which was listed in Modern Bride as an alternative kind of shower.  Co-listed was a “tea party shower”, but frankly, we’re much more “Stock the Bar” kind of girls over here at Always a Bridesmaid.  In fact, in Mayra’s EXACT WORDS “That’s friggin’ AWESOME! I want to have one!”  As an aside, CLEARLY this concept was not designed with my friends in mind, all of whom are known to drink MORE than what they bring when I host a party, but that’s probably just us Basically, the idea is to bring the future husband and wife the wine and spirits that they will need to have a “stocked bar” for future entertaining.  Here is a great article with some tips on what you need to host this kind of shower (I LOVE that it politely suggests that this be an evening affair!)
