Fabulous Gift for Food Lovers

Posted by on Oct 26, 2011 in Practical Planning | 2 Comments

With Mayra newly engaged, I’ve been thinking quite a bit about registry, presents, etiquette and more… in a totally different way than I do in a professional capacity. With her engagement party around the corner, and their love of food and books, I took special note of this new culinary series from Penguin Classics. Their newly re-packaged and stunningly designed “Great Foods” series takes 400 years of Food Writing and has re-issued them in fabulous looking paper-backs by award winning designer Coralie Bickford-Smith. From Alexander Dumas’ recipe collections to a tome from 1615 filled with housekeeping tips for the “middle class” by Gervase Markham, each book is filled with the bouyant, trivial and interesting take on food and home from over the centuries. At only 12.95 per book, the set would make a lovely gift, or separately, fabulous hostess gifts as we enter the holiday season!

That IS a great idea! My best friend is engaged and we’ve been brainstorming the topic of hostess gifts a lot lately, as well. Love this one – thanks for sharing!

That’s a great idea, Penguin is always coming up with new twists and spins. I’m going to check those out for myself!
