I spend a lot of time thinking about my hair. Now, that doesn’t mean that I spend time DOING my hair, only that I THINK about it. I am extremely knowledgable about hair straighteners, hair products, and above all curling irons (nothing beats a Conair 1.5″ barrel. So cheap, yet so amazing!) . Xochitl mocks how I am like a moth to a flame when we are making our way past a hair tool display. So, when I had someone email me a question about hair styles I knew I had to write a blog post about it!

Gabriella has had long hair for the past 11 years. She is set to walk down the aisle in August of next year. Despite her girlfriends objections, she recently cut her hair! She wanted to know what options we might recommend. Now, let me say that Gabriella is gorg and will look amazing in any hairstyle she chooses, but also there is no rule saying we have to have long flowing hair on our wedding days! She mentioned that she loves her hair this length and I see no reason for her to cut it. We are at our most beautiful when we feel good about ourselves, so

Wanting to wear your hair down, but not into the messy look? What about this pulled back option? I love that it is elegant and structural. Perfect for those bride’s that prefer a more polished style.

Have short hair and want something dramatic? What about adding fabulous hair jewelry? This bride kept everything else simple, but went all the way with her hair piece! Photo from Brides.com

Short hair? Why not wear a dramatic hair piece?

Now just because your hair is short doesn’t mean you want to wear it down. For those of you who want to wear an updo, you still can! Lindsay looked amazing in her side swept hairstyle! Photo by Karen Wise.

Short hair? You can always go with a simple updo! Here is a close up of a style that Charlize Theron wore to the Golden Globes that I LOVED!

Short bridal hairstyle! Now if we could all look like Charlize:)

Now do you love short hair for your day to day life, but can’t quite get the idea of yourself as long haired goddess for your wedding day? I hear ya. I felt the same way. So rather than accept my hair reality, I made my bestie go with me to find the perfect EXTENSIONS!! Photo by Heather Waraksa.

Great advice! We have seen many brides who pay big money to get their hair done and then don’t like it when they get home. It’s all about the planning planning planing. Some brides even leave their hair in the up do for all the picture parts but then lets her hair down when the dancing begins. Great Blog!
