You must understand that I spend most of my day emailing with brides and vendors, so I respect electronically conveyed humor. Robert Wagner kind of has the best sense of email humor….  He saw my earlier post today about BK Awesomeness and sent the message: “I also saw your comment and picture of the cake, I took it at as a call to action…..”  And so, I give you, Cheryl Kleinman’s FABULOUS cake as shot by a talented photographer, and not a wedding planner with a camera……

In case you don’t remember Serah and Min from last week, here is a fun (and romantic) shot of this great couple! As well as a glimpse at their awesome floral (via Verde Flowers) and color palette!

Honestly, this is like a one wedding inspiration board for Green, Brown & White!!!  They used simple Kermits for their pomanders and ceremony decor, worked with the white folding chairs that they rent at Smack Mellon and used brown cotton linens to play off of!  Delightful! Love the colorful cocktail napkins… Color is free, ladies!!! Thanks Robert to responding to my passive aggressive plea for cake pics! And there is STILL more to come!

Dave Robbins, who in addition to being a phenomenal photographer, is totally beloved by his clients, sent me shots of Chandra & Matt’s awesome, homespun wedding.  The couple wed outside of the grounds of a private estate in Connecticut, and, if I can point out the #1 thing that they did right… well, they were completely themselves and they let the setting do the talking. They had been living in LA and moved to one of three bungalows on the groom’s father’s property.  I’m a city girl, so for me, I just adore this wedding. It just feels…. warm and loving.  The ceremony was by a lake in a wooded area, and their invites really reflected the natural setting, and their baby blue and brown color scheme seems almost inspired completely by the house itself!  Here are some shots of the stunning ceremony and the breathtaking image of her leaving out the screen door.

The couple had a fantastic vintage photo booth and self serve glass soda bottles, which I just loved.  Their floral, which were all simple, seasonal flowers were in julep cups, old glass bottles and other household like containers.  The brought the blue and brown out in their linens AND, best of all, on their homemade table of treats, equipped with COOKIE JARS  (with vegan cookies)!! I just love it. 

Just a few of the shots that I loved….. how gorgeous is the last one by the lake…. it’s so romantic….. Sigh.

The Q:  I’m planning a wedding at the NYC Fire Musuem and originally before we decided to have our reception at this venue, our colors were and teal and brown. Now that its at the museum which has red windows, I’m thinking we need to add red to our colors to color coordinate? What do you think of teal, brown and red?

The A:  I love this combination.  Though I should say that one girl’s teal is another girl’s acqua, so it does depend on HOW green your teal is. If it’s MORE green than blue, you may want to tread lightly with the red accents.  MAYBE a little bit of red mixed into your centerpiece flowers or a border on your table number signs.  If your Teal is more of an Acqua, go willy nilly!!!  It’s vibrant, chic and I think adorable.

Tip of the Day: If you aren’t sure, take a swatch of your BM dresses or whatever it is to a hardware store and start playing with paint chips.  That will give you as sense of what works and what won’t.  Here are some great examples from Wedding Bee and Tastefully Entertaining.
