My 57 Grand Inspiration Board

Posted by on Jan 14, 2010 in Blog | One Comment

Earlier this week I blogged about my new love… I think I could spend an entire day on this site. Honestly. Now that’s saying something because I have a really short attention span for things like that. Today I started to try to find ways to use the site and decided to use it to create an inspiration board for our 57 Grand Bridesmaid Dress Give-away. It was so quick and easy!

I decided that I would turn my favorite dress (from the Riverside collection) into a work dress. Since I need to try to blend into the background on wedding days, I kept the shoes and dress basic and classy, but I tried to add some spice to my life with the accessories. 57jpegI am now obsessed with that watch! I hope this gets you ladies inspired to create your own inspiration boards. I mean, how much would your ‘maids love you if you won their dresses for them?

Non-Bridal Attire

It was too cold to leave my house yesterday (this is the time of year when my true Californian starts to come out) so I decided to camp out on the couch to do work and watch an entire day of Law&Order’s. I know you won’t believe me, but there didn’t seem to be any on yesterday in the early afternoon! I thought they were always on? Anyway, luckily I found a site that kept me so entertained, that I almost didn’t care that I was forced to watch another show…well, almost.

So, do you love clothes, but have already picked out your dress and your bridesmaid dresses? Well, not that I am one to encourage shopping (just ask Xochitl) but there is still so much more to buy:) What will you wear to your shower? Rehearsal dinner? What will you wear on your honeymoon? I am obsessed with Polyvore. I could have made inspiration boards all night!

If you read this regularly you may have noticed that Mayra has been posting a lot this week… I have to thank her because I’ve just been a wee bit overwhelmed with probably the two biggest weddings that I’ve ever worked on.  Not only are there a lot of guests, but there are a lot of details AND as is the norm in this business, I’ve gotten to know their families through the process making me want the days to be even that much MORE wonderful for everyone involved. (btw, any other wedding planners out there, isn’t getting thanked in a program the gift and the curse? it’s SOOO amazingly sweet, but LOL, talk about pressure!)

Anyway, I have basically had nothing but visions of wedding dancing through my head, and so with my lack of social life, I’ve spent my free time obsessing about my new apartment.  So, I was really keen when I saw these two cool things that I thought I would share.  Even if you’ve been living with your FH forever, getting married is a great excuse to re-vamp the nest and what better way to welcome home those new wedding gifts with a new coat of paint!?  Valspar designed this awesome site called Love, Our Style to help you and your hubby decide on colors that would work for you! There is a style quiz that generates a look and color palette for you and your FH (Yes, I’ll admit, I took the quiz alone playing both myself and my imaginary boyfriend), tips on painting AND even a fabulous essay contest where the winners win a decor consult with Beehive Studios)  Someone should make a site like this for wedding registries!

Speaking of registries, I’d already sung the praises of Jessica Rust’s personalized china on this blog before, but now that I’m in a lovely new shack, I have a REAL appreciation for plates with some personality. She now has the ability to create a registry on her website AND she just launched a couple of new designs.  Here are my two favorites: the tattoo love dessert set (with your names on the tattoo) ($165) and the Love Birds dishes! How awesome!

Check out Polyvore, where you can create interiors from your favorite items found online and see how they all pull together. And whose to say you couldn’t use this to see your tablescape in advance of the big day?
